A Year Down the Line
This last year has certainly been a surreal one. From getting the keys to the run down new showroom, to then Lockdown One and having to close and change the way we ran the business just doing postal deliveries. Spending a few months renovating our new unit whilst running a “Click & Collect” service. Opening the new showroom for all of 9 days in October and then having to close the doors again at what is our busiest time of the year for Lockdown 2. Opening for 3 weeks and closing for Lockdown 3, reintroducing deliveries and now “Click & Collect” again. Lets hope Lockdowns are over forever because on Monday 12 April we are opening back opening our doors… I can not wait and never want to close them again!
I’m not going to lie, it has been extremely challenging and worrying at times and there have been tears, but I took the attitude that I wasn’t going to give up.. no matter what and I have said for the last year, if I still have a business at the end of this I am truly grateful.
Well… we are still here and that’s all down to all my amazing customers for all your support & loyalty throughout. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your purchases, recommendations, sharing of posts and for sticking by my small business to keep it going.
Another huge Thank you goes to those who helped me raise £1800 by purchasing our NHS Heroes Candles in the first Lockdown, for the amazing NHS Staff at Mastercall in Hazel Grove and on ICU, HDU and D1 at Stepping Hill Hospital. This was split equally between the 4 units and I purchased lots of much needed equipment and treats for them. I was awarded a High Sheriff Award for this, which is going to be framed and hung in the showroom, taking pride of place.
Both the old and new showrooms are ready to go. We have lots of new stock of homeware, gifts and even introduced some new lines of Home Fragrance.
These are not made by myself but, from a couple of different suppliers. I took the decision over Lockdown 3 to gradually start to offer some different ranges, purely to give people more options. I have tested the products myself and know that they are of good quality and extremely reputable suppliers.
I have decided to carry on with the appointment booking system for the time being, based on the fabulous feedback that I got from when I did it last time. People commented on how safe they felt and how much more of a personalised shopping experience they felt they were getting.
However, I understand that some people can’t commit to an exact time and date and need the flexibility to call in when they are passing. So we have introduced a new system to cater for those last minute gifts and to allow you to call in whenever suits you.
If you arrive at the showroom without an appointment, I have a new sign on the front ground floor door with my mobile number on. If you give me call and if I have have less than 5 people in the showroom you will be able to come up straight away. However, if we are already fully booked and you are happy to wait until someone else come out or you can wait in your car and we will give you a call back when you can come up.
I love having customers in the showroom and I love it even more when they feel that they can browse at their leisure and don’t feel rushed, so if you can, please book an appointment
to avoid a wait, but if you are just passing and fancy some retail therapy or you have forgotten your Mother in Law’s birthday and need a gift NOW do not hesitate to call on spec.
The new homeware has been closed for more than it has been open and we want to make it as easy as possible for you to visit – but we also want you to be safe too!
Again from me, a huge heartfelt thanks.
